Why it pays to keep the medical record current
Sample draft. This text is a placeholder used to test the blog structure. Replace it with real content before publishing.
The medical record is one of those things you only notice when it’s missing. It gets filled in once, forgotten, and goes out of date right when it matters.
The bare minimum that should be there
Blood type, allergies, conditions with their details and, above all, an emergency contact with their relationship to the child and a phone number somebody answers.
Review it at the start of each school year
Phone numbers change, allergies appear and emergency contacts move to another city. Once a year is enough.
Keep the doctor’s notes where they can be found
Attaching the prescription or the doctor’s note to the record saves the desperate search through the phone’s photo gallery three months later.
